Vito DiBartolo, Co-Founder
vito Vito DiBartolo came to America with a dream of opening his own business. He brought with him a rich family tradition of preparing real Italian food. His undying passion for native cuisine has inspired every DiBartolo pizzeria for over four decades. Vito opened his first pizzeria in Queens, New York called "La Bella Pizza" in 1966. He later opened "Pizza Shack" and "Carlo’s Pizza." When Vito’s son, Joe, was a teenager, he relocated the family to Upstate New York. Along with Joe and wife, Anne, they opened 14 “I Love New York Pizza” shops in college towns throughout the Upstate area. In 1990, he returned to Rome, Italy and opened a pizzeria to further his pizza making skills. In 1992, the DiBartolo’s returned to the United States settling in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where they opened sixteen pizza shops and two fine dinning restaurants throughout North Carolina. He also opened pizza shops in Gainesville, Florida and Georgia. While “PizzaVito” is new to the marketplace, our family has been a staple in the pizza industry for years.
